Near vision lenses

New InterView

Like many practices, you probably dispense a large number of reading spectacles to customers in their forties and beyond who are reluctant to switch to multifocal lenses.

The reality is that most of these people at some stage will need also a mid-vision correction, now or in the coming years.

But unfortunately, near to mid-vision lenses are often overlooked infavour of limiting standard reading spectacles.Yet many of our day-to-day activities are performed using our midvision.

From the simplest of scenarios like holding a conversation, having dinner, doing housework, through to situations in the working environment; whether it’s in the office, in a shop... just about anywhere you can think of.

We all need to use our mid-vision, so why neglect it?

Recognising and solving the problem

There are some obvious tell-tale signs that highlight the loss of midvision.

Everyone has seen wearers who push their spectacles to the tip of their nose, or up onto their forehead. These are signs that standard single vision reading spectacles limit their vision to reading distance or slightly beyond and they don’t solve their mid-distance problem.

However, there is a very simple solution - New InterView - the “advanced” single vision lens from Essilor.

New InterView offers the combined benefit of a near vision lens to an exact prescription, combined with a mid-distance correction.

Superior design and new material

New InterView will take your customers away from standard reading

spectacles, expanding their depth of clear vision.

A choice of two versions allows you to meet more closely the needs of presbyopes, according to their age and addition.

New InterView lenses are now available in a 1.561 index thermosetting resin that is very light and absorbs 100% of UVA and 99.7% of UVB with a UV cut off of 375nm. The lenses include Supra hard coating as standard but can be further coated with Crizal or Trio.

New InterView is available in two variations (regressions) of power, 0.80 dioptres and 1.30 dioptres, which means the lens can now be adapted to the age of the wearer and their changing prescription.

As a general rule, InterView 080 is suitable for anyone in their forties, who is happy wearing single vision lenses: a mid-vision correction will be their next requirement.

InterView 130 is suitable for the over fifties age group who have stronger plus lenses, less accommodation and, as a result, a much reduced depth of field.

Who should wear New InterView lenses?

The choice of two regressions based on patients needs has considerably increased the

range of distances they can see clearly at the extended mid-vision zone. It means that your patients can use the New InterView lens for many more occupations that need clear vision beyond their reading distance.

Most presbyopes will benefit from wearing

New InterView lenses, in particular:

  • Wearers who are reluctant to wear their spectacles all of the time but do not want constantly to take them on and off.

  • Multifocal wearers that wish to use an additional pair of spectacles for close and mid-vision tasks, e.g computer work, desk work, meetings etc.

  • Former single vision reading spectacle wearers who need to see clearly beyond their reading distance.
