Thanks
to the success of the Back Surface series, Tokai further developed this
technology to arrive at a new design: a combined aspheric front curve without
addition with the aspheric atoric BS design which individualizes the lens.
This combination of 2 base curves in the
front curve further improves the optical and aesthetical aspects of the lens,
which means: for minus powers, a deeper curve is used in far vision to reduce
the effect of images becoming smaller in the peripheral area and a flatter
curve is used in near vision for aesthetical reason.
This is inversed for
positive powers: a flatter curve is used in far vision for aesthetical reasons
and a deeper curve is used in near vision to reduce the peripheral
magnification of images.
