Presio W gives super high index

Nikon Presio W, with Aberration Filter Surface Technology, is now available in super high index 1.74 plastics material.
The Presio W, a double-surface design progressive lens, comes in 1.60, 1.67 and now 1.74 index materials.
Nikon said that the concave surface was calculated not only to complete the prescription of the lens, but also to minimise the aberrations produced by the progressive surface, offering almost natural vision. Presio W is available with either HCC ikon or HCC original coatings.

Thanks to Nikon original asymmetric power distibution design, Nikon Presio features an extremely wide near-view area. The unique shape of the near vision which extends towards the temples, allows for a wide and stable reading area.

In conventional progressive lenses, softness is obtained by spreading aberrations in the far vision zone. This normally results in power contour curves which are bent upward (plus far vision power). With Presio lenses, Nikon has succeded in flattening these contour lines

With its full aspheric design, Presio's progressive lenses now offer all the benefits traditionally found on Aspheric Single Vision lenses. Presio lenses use flatter base curves, and offer thinner designs compared to traditional progressive.
