Nighttime Driving
iZon™ Lenses Improve Nighttime Driving
Performance
Driving at night can be deadly. A person
with daytime vision of 20/20 is reduced at best to 20/50 when driving at night.
Many people find their vision further compromised by an increase in glare,
halos and starbursts.

iZon High Resolution Lenses correct for
the high order (3rd-6th) aberrations of the eye that compromise a patient's
vision at night. In FDA validated simulated nighttime driving tests, iZon
Single-Vision Lenses significantly improved nighttime driving performance over
conventional lenses. Wearers were able to detect, recognize and react to a
potential hazard 3/10ths of a second and 25 feet faster. This represents a
significant safety margin
A Significant Safety Margin:
25 Feet
- is greater than two car lengths or
approximately the distance across an intersection. It may even be the
difference
between life and death.
20% improvement
- in perception/reaction time.
.30 seconds—a relevant statistic
- a few years ago, a federal mandate required all cars to include a 3rd brake
light because it increased driver reaction time by .35 seconds. iZon Lenses
give you an additional 3/10ths of a second safety margin.

Optical iPrint

In approximately one minute, the
practitioner takes the refraction needed for iZon Lenses with the Z-View™
Aberrometer. The customized, comprehensive prescription includes the
conventional sphere, cylinder and axis, and also high order (3rd-6th)
aberration measurements.
A detailed
iPrint, an
optical map of the unique microscopic irregularities of each eye, is produced.
The iPrint indicates the presence of high order aberrations that impact the
quality of the patient's vision. Customized iZon Lenses are "Powered by
iPrint™".

Nighttime Driving Just Got Easier and
Safer with iZon™ High Resolution Lenses
If you're having difficulty seeing when
you drive at night, you're not alone. Auto accidents are 1.6 times more
frequent
at night than during daylight hours.
With conventional vision correction,
even so-called perfect 20/20 vision is reduced to — at best — 20/50 at night.
It's important to remember that your eye
is not a perfect optical instrument. Instead, it's made up of microscopic
irregularities, or aberrations. These cause the light that enters your eye to
be deformed and then reflected off your retina at various angles. This
distortion can have a big impact on the quality of your vision.
Nighttime glare, halos and starbursts from
headlights and streetlights, and poor weather conditions also reduce
visibility. Even if you are 20/20 with standard vision correction, your daytime
and nighttime vision is not as clear and sharp as it could be. Until now, there
was nothing your doctor could do to correct this problem.

Introducing a
Customized Eyeglass Solution for Your Daytime and Nighttime Vision Problems
Customized iZon High Resolution Lenses
represent an innovation in vision correction technology, the first ever
customized spectacle lenses that correct visual quality have been made
available.
iZon Lenses provide "High-Definition"
vision, day or night. "High-Definition" vision means that everything will be
clearer, sharper and more vivid than you ever imagined. Glare, halos and
starbursts are reduced or oftentimes eliminated when driving at night. In fact,
eight of 10 patients rate the lens highly for both daytime vision and night
driving vision.

Without wave front correction

With wave front correction
These lenses are custom-made uniquely for
you, based on the "fingerprint", or iPrint™ of your eye, as measured during
your exam. This measurement indicates the presence of high order aberrations
that create glare, halos and other vision disorders. iZon High Resolution
Lenses have literally thousands of points of correction across the surface of
the lens and are custom-made to your unique wavefront-guided iPrint™. Your
vision is sharper, clearer and more vivid than you ever thought possible.
In clinical studies, iZon wearers reacted
to potential hazards 25 feet sooner (or two car lengths) than non-wearers, a
distance that often can be the difference between safety and fatality.
