OPTICAL'S ELEMENTS OF THE EYE
AQUEOUS HUMOR

The aqueous humor is a transparent liquid which is constantly renewed
and is responsible for maintaining the eye's intraocular pressure. If
the pressure is too high, there will be an insufficient blood supply
to the head of the optical nerve. This pressure plays a major role in
glaucoma..
THE PUPIL
The pupil is the eye's diaphragm through which light rays pass. It
has a diameter of 2 to 8 mm in the dark. Emotional states, drugs, neurological
problems can affect the function of the pupil .
THE CRYSTALLINE LENS

The crystalline lens is responsible for focusing the eye. If it loses
its elasticity, it causes presbyopia, if it becomes opaque, the result
is cataract.
VITREOUS BODY

The vitreous humor is a kind of gel that occupies 90% of the eye's
volume. It absorbs mechanical shocks and keeps the retina in place next
to the choroid layer. It becomes more liquid with age.
