We have been opticians for three generations
in our family, and our activity is targeted on three areas, optometry,
contact lenses and optical instruments.
Vanessa Di
Giovanni: spontaneous, thoughtful intuitive and dynamic after having studied
international trade and marketing in Annecy, France, she worked for the
lens-manufacturing industry. After being eyewear product manager, she then
evolved towards design. From Italian origins, she does not mince her words and
guides herself with her emotions.
Mehdi Gaurat:
fiery, imaginative, passionate and sensitive. After having obtained a degree in
graphic design at the "arts appliqués" (school of applied arts) in Lyon.
France, he became eyewear designer in 1991. His own design is the result of his
evolution at various firms operating in this field.
They joined
Alain Mikli's design teams in 2003. In October 2007, they launched Iheir
eyeglass collection. At this occasion, they obtained the Silmo d'Or award in
the fashion design section.
Their idea
To wear a
custom-made frame that is in harmony with the asymmetries of the wearer's
face.Design a custom-made adjustment that corrects the tilt of both, the
temples and the front. To bring an answer, to myopia and to adapt to the
evolution of progressive lenses.
EXO 'IN: is
a mechanism designed in MIM (Mould Injected Metal), this mechanism is moulded
inside the temple. A micrometre adjustment feature allows temple height
adjustment and tilt of the front.
Such as a
clock-maker, the optician performs a customized fit for every frame, within a
half-degree margin. The precision of the micrometric adjustment optimizes both
the comfort of the frame and the vision quality.
Their collection
Together,
Vanessa & Mehdi designed a collection, the technical integration of which gives
birth to an unique look with unexpected lines.
A modern
linefor the fans of custom-made items, in search of a timeless frame, with a
different look.
The
collection is made out of high-tech materials such as HDN (High Definition
Nylon) and pure titanium.
Their communication
Under the
influence of imaginary characters and new technologies, they designed the EXOS.
These creatures with strange armours transform themselves into jointed and
surprising frames!
The idea
behind their collection is based on blending the frame with the face while
overcoming the defects of facial asymmetry. They designed their collection
featuring a technology that enables a “custom-made” fit to compensate for these
defects by correcting the tilt of the temples and frame front. The technically
innovative frame is inspired by exoskeletons and features volume-worked temples
with unexpected, futuristic lines in colours like cherry crystal, anthracite
with glossy black, brushed titanium, raspberry, a sateen-like sand finish or
frosty pearl grey.
