SUUNTO S6

Measure and store your maximum speed and avarage speed of a run. With altimeter, barometer, compass, watch, skichrono and PC interface.
Suunto S6 is a new wristop computer especially designed for alpine skiing and snowboarding. It offers a unique combination of three functional dimensions: it gives the user essential information instantly when riding on and off pistes. A level of deeper understanding comes with the PC interface. It also opens a door to an Internet community where skiers and snowboarders worldwide can share and acquire information with and from other users of Suunto´s latest wristop computer generation.

INFORMATION IN ACTION

Know your sports
- The combination of altimeter and clinometer enables alpine skiers and snowboarders to measure their speed.
- Recording of altitude profile at 2-, 10-, or 60-second intervals gives information on the daily performance.
- The chronograph records the maximum and average speed and the altitude profile of individual runs at 2-second intervals and offers advanced timing functions and an interval reminder.
- Real-time accumulated descent values and total number of skiing runs.

Know your environment
- Information on the surrounding terrain, such as altitude, ascent/descent rate, compass bearing, weather trends, barometric pressure, and degree of slope offer new ways to get more out of the experience.

Remember safety
- A compass and altimeter are essential in the mountains when the weather gets bad.
- Barometer memory helps to forecast the weather.
- Clinometer can be used to estimate avalanche risk.
- Different alarms can be used to provide an alert at certain altitude, warn of too rapid an ascent, or indicate an upcoming storm.

DEEPER UNDERSTANDING
Suunto Ski Manager (SKIM) is software that enables deeper understanding of the recorded data. With SKIM you can visualize the altitude profiles for your skiing and snowboarding trips and for recorded individual runs, analyze and plan your sports activities and keep a training diary. You can also create your own activity reports by adding photos and text to the profiles.

UPGRADE SUUNTO SKI MANAGER 1.1 (SKIM)
Here you can upgrade Suunto Ski Manager (SKIM) version 1.1. (2,26 MB)
Download the update version, if you already have installed a previous SKIM version to your computer. This procedure updates your software, but keeps all your previous sports logs still available.
The full version of SKIM can be installed from the CD that is included in your Suunto S6 package. If you are registered in www.suuntosports.com, you can download the full version in My Suunto -section.

SNOWSPORTS COMMUNITY AT SUUNTOSPORTS.COM
SuuntoSports.com is a new Internet site where all snow sport enthusiasts can meet each other and find and share information and tips for their activities. SUUNTO Altimax

The Suunto Altimax is an ideal and easy partner to the slope for every skier enthusiast. Altimax combines an altimeter, barometer, watch and stopwatch with a user-friendly display with big numerals and backlight. The one-button fast access allows you to view easily the cumulative vertical changes and number of runs skied during the day. The Altimax has the bold design to match your hard earned skills on the slopes.

Altimax – makes the most of your alpine experience
The main modes of the Altimax wristop computer are altimeter, barometer and time. The Altimax can be set to show information in imperial or metric units. The Suunto Altimax features the easy-to-use logic, a large display with big numerals, electroluminescent backlight and a user-replaceable battery. The altimeter features easy “one-button access” to intermediate information about the vertical changes or the runs skied during the day. The logbook allows you to review the gathered information up to one week of skiing or snowboarding.

Measure your vertical performance
The altitude range extends up to 9 000 m/29 500 ft, which makes Altimax a true partner candidate for your ski descent from Mt. Everest. The altitude is shown with 5 m/10 ft resolution. Altimax also features an altitude difference measurement function for following vertical progress between stages. It has an automatic 24-hour memory that stores altitude and ascent/Descent rate for every hour. The Altimax features an adjustable altitude alarm. The logbook allows you to record total and cumulative vertical ascents and descents, as well as the number of runs skied.

Keep ahead of the storm
The Altimax displays the current barometric pressure and temperature, which is valuable information for forecasting the weather changes. The Altimax automatically records barometric data for the past four days: the first six hours in one-hour intervals and after that in six-hour intervals. The resolution of the barometer is 1 mbar/0.05 inHg. When the reference altitude is correctly set, the instrument also shows the present sea level pressure, which makes it easier to read and understand the barometric pressure at high altitudes. However, when on tour on the mountains, don’t forget that the detected barometric pressure changes when you are moving in the vertical direction. This makes tracing of weather changes more complicated. The operating temperature is -20 - +50 Celsius, -5 - +120 Fahrenheit.

A reliable timekeeper
In addition to the multiple watch functions - 12/24 hour clock, calendar programmed to 2089, 3 daily alarms, stopwatch, countdown timer - Altimax also features dual time. No matter where you’re skiing or snowboarding, Altimax will tell you local time as well as your home time!
