SUUNTO Advizor

The Suunto Advizor is the ideal companion for all the outdoor
people from beginners to professionals. The Suunto Advizor offers unique
combination of altimeter, barometer, electronic compass, chronometer and heart
rate monitor in one compact package. The heart rate monitor allows the user to
monitor the impact of altitude and vertical rate of movement on the heart rate.
All these features together make the Advizor an ideal personal trainer for every
outdoor enthusiast.
YOUR PERSONAL OUTDOOR TRAINER
Advizor offers altimeter, barometer, digital compass and more. Additional
features include dual time, easy access to daily total ascent/descent, as well
as a complete heart rate monitor (HRM). Other features include
electroluminescent backlight, user-replaceable battery as well as a durable
plastic casing water-resistant to 100ft/30m. Operating temperature -20 - +50
Celsius, -5 -+120 Fahrenheit.
PUT ALL YOUR HEART INTO IT
The unit is available with or without transmitter belt.
Advizor enables the user to set upper and lower limits in one beat increments
for target zone training, featuring audible and visual alarms alerting the user
that they are exceeding preset limits. Easy to use with the auto-start of the
heart rate measurement, Advizor’s HRM mode also features a stopwatch as well as
an interval timer. Using either one of the timers, Advizor will store the
crucial information for viewing after training including: training time,
maximum, minimum and average heart rate, as well as time spent in, above and
below the target zone during training.
MEASURE YOUR VERTICAL PERFORMANCE
Advizor’s altimeter ranging up to 9,000 m / 29,500 ft simultaneously displays
and stores into the logbook, current altitude, vertical ascent/descent rate as
well as heart rate. This feature allows the user to follow the impact of
altitude and vertical ascent rate on the heart beat while hiking, mountain
biking or skiing. In addition to your total vertical ascent/descent and number
of runs skied, you can easily view your maximum, minimum and average heart rate
during the day and time spent in, above or below your target zone if you set one
before heading out.
ACCURATE READINGS
The electronic compass has a bubble level for accurate readings. In a horizontal
position, when the liquid bubble of the level is centered, the Advizor is able
to give bearings with 3-degree-accuracy. Other information shown in the compass
mode are the cardinal or half-cardinal point and the North-South arrow. The
compass can also be set to track a certain bearing, which helps following of the
chosen direction in the terrain. The declination adjustment function allows the
user to correct the difference between true North and magnetic North.
KEEP ONE STEP AHEAD OF THE STORM
The Advizor displays the current barometric pressure and temperature, which is
valuable information for forecasting the weather changes. The Advizor
automatically records barometric data for the past four days: the first six
hours in one-hour intervals and after that in six-hour intervals. When the
reference altitude is correctly set, the instrument also shows the present sea
level pressure, which makes it easier to read and understand the barometric
pressure at high altitudes. However, when on tour on the mountains, don’t forget
that the detected barometric pressure changes when you are moving in the
vertical direction, which makes tracing of weather changes more complicated.

SUUNTO Observer

The extremely shock-resistant Observer is a perfect tool for the
toughest athletic challenges, but its timeless design makes it wearable in any
casual situation. Thanks to its moderate size, Observer fits well also to female
wrist. The most important features of Observer include the following: altimeter,
barometer, digital compass, and watch with chronometer and dual time functions.
The Observer is also available in a lightweight titanium.
The new ultimate Observer for athletic challenges and for leasure
The Suunto Observer’s main features are altimeter, barometer, digital compass,
and time with stopwatch and dual time functions. The Observer is shock-resistant
and water resistant to 100 m/330 ft. Other features include easy-to-read display
with extra-ordinary large viewing angle, electroluminescent backlight and a
user-replaceable battery.
Measure your vertical performance
The altimeter has a range up to 9 000 m/29 500 ft with 1 m/3 ft resolution. It
also features adjustable altitude alarm as well as memory functions. Logbook
allows the user to record total and cumulative vertical ascents and descents, as
well as the number of runs skied. With one-button access you can get all this as
intermediate information. The Observer’s memory capacity is 99 logs. The
Altimeter use is a unique feature to keep sea level pressure from changing when
the unit is used as an altimeter. When the altimeter function is activated, all
pressure changes are interpreted as altitude changes, and the sea level pressure
reading displayed will not change, although the absolute pressure reading will.
Keep one step ahead of the storm .In addition to current barometric pressure and
temperature, the barometer function of Observer gives pressure related data for
the past four days: the first six hours in one hour intervals and after that in
six hour intervals. The Barometer use is a unique feature that keeps the
altitude from changing when the unit is used as a barometer. It interprets all
pressure changes as weather changes and the measured changes will therefore only
affect the pressure reading in the barometer mode. These changes will not affect
the altitude reading, thus enabling for instance weather forecasts in a camp.
The operating temperature is -20 - +50 Celsius, -5 - +120 Fahrenheit.
Keep on the right track
The compass shows the cardinal or half-cardinal point abbreviated and indicates
the North with an arrow. The compass can be set to track a certain bearing, and
graphically show the difference between this and the actual bearing. This is a
valuable tool, when trying to get back on track after minor or major detours in
the terrain. The declination adjustment function allows the user to correct the
difference between true North and magnetic North.
A reliable timekeeper
Observer also has a calendar clock pre-programmed to the year 2089 with three
daily alarms, a dual time display, and a stopwatch with lap and split time
measurement. The stopwatch stores up to 99 laps and split times for one run. The
time can either be shown in 12 or 24 hour format.

SUUNTO Escape203

HAND-HELD ELECTRONIC ALTIMETER-BAROMETER
Escape203 is the first model in Suunto’s category of hand-held electronics.
The Escape203 features an altimeter and a barometer with various memory
functions. The Escape203’s accuracy and good usability in all conditions makes
it an ideal companion for climbers, boaters and outdoor enthusiasts as well as
for professionals.
The altimeter of the Escape203 shows you your current altitude, vertical gain or
loss from the start of a hike or climb, as well as your vertical ascent and
descent rate in ft/h (m/h). Up to 20 altitude points can be stored into the
memory for later reviewing. The one-logbook memory stores total vertical
ascent/descent for the log, as well as the maximum and minimum altitudes reached
during the activity. The unit also stores the accumulated vertical
ascent/descent over a longer period of time. The altitude range extends up to 29
500 ft (9 000 m). The resolution is adjustable by the user to either 3ft (1 m)
or 10 ft (5 m).
The Escape203 barometer keeps you ahead of the storm and shows the current
absolute and sea level pressures, temperature as well as the barometric trend
for the last 6 hours. The Escape203 features also a pressure alarm. In activated
state the alarm will alert the user to pressure changes of 4 mbar/0.10 inHg over
a period of 3 hours. A special feature of the Escape203 is a “locking mechanism”
that keeps the altitude from changing when the unit is used for weather
monitoring purposes only. Similarly, when the device is used as altimeter, the
seal level pressure stays constant and the barometric changes only affect the
altitude and absolute pressure reading. The resolution of the barometer is 1
mbar/0.05 inHg.
The barometer memory automatically stores the barometric pressure and
temperature history for the last 24 hours, as well as the maximum and minimum
values during this time. It also stores the maximum and minimum pressure and
temperature values over time, which makes it valuable for estimating the
barometric trend.
In addition, the Escape203 has a time mode with normal watch functions such as
current time with 12/24 hour format, weekday and date.
The luminous display and user-replaceable battery makes the Escape203 suitable
even for harsh conditions. Its operating with three buttons is easy even when
wearing gloves. The unit is water resistant and temperature compensated. Neck
lanyard comes as standard.
