Enhanced aspheric
optical design delivers next-generation aberration correction for exceptional
vision.
Spherical Aberration is Inherent Within The
Ocular System
In the general population, 0.15 microns of positive spherical
aberration is typical for a 6.0mm pupil.*

Standard Spherical vs. Enhanced Aspheric
Optics
Standard spherical contact lenses induce spherical aberration.
- Spherical aberration is not consistent across lens
powers.
Negative
spherical aberration increases as power is increased to correct myopia.

PureVision® silicone hydrogel lenses control spherical aberration.
- PureVision lenses are designed with an aspheric
anterior surface to reduce both inherent and induced spherical aberrations.
- The enhanced optical design within PureVision® lenses
reduces spherical aberration across all lens powers.

PureVision® lenses with patented AerGel silicone hydrogel
material have overnight corneal swelling equivalent to wearing no lens at all.1

AerGel silicone hydrogel material coupled with Perform
surface process delivers:
- Enhanced wettability and deposit resistance without
inhibiting
oxygen or fluid transport.
- High oxygen transmissibility for healthy, white eyes.
- Reduced risk of hypoxic stress to help maintain
excellent ocular health.
1
The illustrations represent results from a series of overnight corneal
swelling clinical studies of adapted daily wear soft lens patients. For these
investigations patients wore conventional hydrogel lenses (Dk/t ranged from 24
to 40), 100% silicone elastomer lenses (Dk/l > 200), PureVision lenses or no
lens. A -3.00D lens was used for the overnight corneal swelling lens
comparisons. Corneal swelling measurements
were made following closed eye conditions for approximately 8 hours).
-
AerGel silicone
hydrogel material coupled with Performa surface process deliver:
-
Enhanced wettability
and deposit resistance without inhibiting oxygen or fluid transport.
-
High oxygen
transmissibility for healthy, white eyes.
-
Reduced risk of
hypoxic stress to help maintain excellent ocular health.
 |
- The lens is bombarded with electrically excited gas
molecules that transform the hydrophobic silicone of the lens surface
into hydrophilic silicate.
|
 |
- Unlike a coating, Performa surface process is
inherent in the matrix of the lens so it does not rub off.
- AerGel silicone hydrogel material combined with
Performa surface process controls hydration dynamics and facilitates
transport for dehydration resistance.
|
 |
- In
addition, rounded edge profile facilitates smooth interaction between
conjunctival tissue and edge of lens for easy movement and all-day
comfort.

PureVision® Multifocal

Excellent visual quality in the critical distances ranges
(between 40 and 120 cm)
thanks to the smooth profile of transition, which was already proven reliable
on the
Bausch & Lomb soflens multifocals.
