Synergi is Sauflon's new preservative-free multipurpose solution for silicone hydrogel lenses.

The solution contains Oxipol which combines cleaning, disinfectant and lubricating agents. Surface active ingredients, a wetting agent, comfort agent and lubricant also make the surface more wettable and enhance wearer comfort, said the company.

Sauflon said that Synergi is effective against the main strains of ocular pathogens, ensuring safe and effective contact lens wear while an antimicrobial soaking case minimises the transfer of bacterial organisms and prevents the build-up of biofilm.

The non-irritant solution can also be used to re-wet the lens during daily wear and is indicated for sensitive eyes.

Synergi is available in a starter pack, one-month pack and three-month pack and can be obtained through Sauflon's home and practice delivery Protector Plan.

The system for all contact lenses

The user-friendly one step system is for disinfecting, cleaning, and storing of Contact lenses.

The contact lenses are disinfected and cleaned through that peroxide-solution. The micronized catalyser in tablet form without coating, allow a thorough cleaning of the contact lenses. Thanks to the relative short disinfection process, after 2 hours, you can put your contact lenses again.

The peroxide system "tab in one" is recommended for the care of all current types of contact lenses, especially of hydrophilic soft contact lenses.

"Tab in one" peroxide system offers a simple and efficient care of the contact lenses in one step for the wearer. The goal of a spontaneously good and continuous compatibility is pursued, in this care system with its preservative free and a film with similar composition of the tear film after the end of the disinfection process.

Despite the best choice of contact lenses the care regiment is quite essential. Biological compatibility and Compliance are of most importance for a successful wear of contact lenses. The care must be simple, but also with efficacy.

Which are the components of the system peroxide "tab in one" and how this functions?

The peroxide care system "tab in one" consists of 3 components: - that 3% hydrogen-peroxide-solution "tab in one", a stabilisation tablet with green organic-indicator and a specially conceived Contact lenses container with exhaust valve.

The stabilisation tablet is not coated in order to release the catalyser slowly and continuously. Step by step it the enzyme is delivered to neutralise the hydrogen peroxide. This process expires when the 3% hydrogen peroxide is dismantled, after 2 hours the solution is only a saline solution isotonic, compatible with the tear film.

Pure peroxide and the catalyser have unstable oxygen-atoms which remove the organic deposits through oxidation.

During the neutralisation process, the contact lenses are disinfected and are freed of contaminating micro organisms, proteins, fats and deposits that build during the day of wear. The catalyser is very stable in regard to pH variation. A minimum of concentration is effective which minimized a possible intolerance during the contact lens wear.

The greenish colour of the solution, obtained by means of organic-indicator, signals the termination of neutralisation.

 

Avizor introduces Ever Clean solution

 

Ever Clean contact lens solution is the result of eight years of research into creating a product to clean all contact lenses throughly without the need for rubbing, according to manufacturer Avizor.

The product includes a two-layer white and green tablet that removes protein in 'only two hours' and disinfects the lenses thoroughly. The white layer begins cleaning immediately to remove protein attached to the surface of the lens, while the green part works in a 'slow and extended manner' to disinfect and neutralise the hydrogen peroxide properties.

 

The company said that Ever Clean worked for all types of lenses and its no-rub formula ensures that the sensitive surface of the lens remains intact and that oxygen channels are kept open. Neutralisation of the peroxide takes two hours and it is converted into a preservative-free saline solution with a light green colouration to indicate that the process is over, added the company.

Also available from Avizor is All Clean Soft, a multipurpose solution based on over 20 years of experience of developing solutions in over 40 countries.

The solution contains the disinfectant Polihexanide and the surfactant Poloxamer, which Avizor said was ideal for cleaning, disinfecting, rinsing, wetting, storing and protein removal.
