The formula of the solution, which is characterized by a complete inoccuity
towards the cornea, contains as components cleaning derived from ultra-soft
glucids. These substances eliminate with care and in a durable way the residues

Contact Lens Care
The surface of a contact lens may develop dry patches and protein deposits,
especially late in the day. These dry patches interact with the eyelids, causing
a scratchy, gritty, almost itchy sensation. They also interact with tear
proteins, which can make the lens dirty. The dry spots can actually repel
rewetting drops, which is why rewetting drops may not always be an adequate fix.

TearGlyde™ Reconditions
The exceptional reconditioning ability of OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS comes from
the unique action of TearGlyde™, a tear-actuating complex. TearGlyde™ works
synergistically with patients' own natural tears to retain moisture on the lens
surface for enhanced comfort throughout the day.
Two proprietary components of TearGlyde™, TETRONIC® 1304 and C9-ED3A, work
together to recondition silicone hydrogel and soft contact lenses.
Biocompatible Disinfection
Silicone hydrogel lenses have been developed to increase the oxygen permeability
of soft contact lenses. However, in 2002 research began to demonstrate
interactions between silicone hydrogel lenses and some lens care solutions.
These lens/solution interactions may involve increases in corneal staining or
lens parameter changes, and can be associated with some Biguanide preservatives.
These preservatives can absorb to the lens and may lead to clinically
significant corneal staining.
Product Containing POLYQUAD® Preservative
A contact lens disinfection system must be both bactericidal and fungicidal. The
disinfection system in OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS consists of POLYQUAD® and
ALDOX®. This is the same disinfection system used in OPTI-FREE® EXPRESS® MPDS.
Excellent Cleaning
The outstanding cleaning ability of OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS has been
confirmed in additional studies. OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® removes the greatest
amount of lysozyme from Group IV lenses.
As proteins accumulate on lenses, ocular discomfort can occur, leading to
decreased wearing time. The efficacy of OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS in the
removal of lens proteins has been determined using in vitro lysozyme deposition
models and ex vivo clinical studies that compared OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® with
marketed multi-purpose solutions.
The cleaning agent used in OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® is citrate,
which helps remove the biological deposits from the lens surface.
POLYQUAD® achieves its bactericidal effects by disrupting the cell membrane of
bacteria, resulting in the death of the bacteria.
Products containing POLYQUAD® and ALDOX® preservatives are safe and
biocompatible with ocular tissues.
The biocompatibility of OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS with silicone hydrogel lenses
and soft lenses has been demonstrated. OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® contains POLYQUAD®,
a Biguanide-free preservative. A study with POLYQUAD® has shown that lens uptake
of this unique preservative is below the limit of detection.
As silicone hydrogel lenses become more prevalent, assuring their
biocompatibility with multi-purpose solutions becomes more important. The
biocompatibility of OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® with silicone hydrogel lenses was
demonstrated in a 28-day study.
Ex Vivo Test
The ability of OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS to recondition soft lenses has been
demonstrated in several ex vivo clinical studies that examined the wettability
of lenses following daily wear.
Previously, OPTI-FREE® EXPRESS® MPDS was found to keep the lens surface wet for
up to 8 hours. However, patients report wearing their lenses for an average of
13 hours. Thus, the need remains for a multi-purpose solution that maintains
lens surface wettability for at least 13 hours. Due to the outstanding
reconditioning properties of TearGlyde™, OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® demonstrated the
ability to maintain moisture on the lens surface at 14 hours.
Wettability was measured by the dispersion of moisture over contact lenses that
have been soaked overnight in a multi-purpose solution and worn in the eye for a
pre-specified length of time. A lower wetting angle is correlated with a greater
ability to retain moisture.
If a surface is dry (or hydrophobic), the contact angle (and surface tension) is
high. The water-repelling surface causes a water drop to bead up. However, if a
surface is wet (or hydrophilic), the contact angle is low, and the water drop
wants to spread out over the surface.
A good wetting agent should condition a hydrophobic (or non-wettable) surface to
be hydrophilic and maintain the hydrophilic surface over the entire lens-wearing
day. The lower the contact angle, the better the wetting agent.

USAGE AND DIRECTIONS: NO RUB LENS CARE DIRECTIONS:
Daily use of COMPLETE® MoisturePLUS™ Multi-Purpose Solution eliminates the need

STEP 1: RINSE
Rinse each side of the lens for 5 seconds with fresh COMPLETE® MoisturePLUS™
Multi-Purpose Solution.
STEP 2: SOAK
Place lenses in clean COMPLETE® MoisturePLUS™ Premium Contact Lens Case and fill
with COMPLETE® MoisturePLUS™ Multi-Purpose Solution. Close lens case tightly.
Allow lenses to soak for a minimum of four (4) hours for disinfection, cleaning,
protein removal and conditioning. Now your lenses are ready to wear.
EXTRA CLEANING AND COMFORT:
Based on your unique tear chemistry and lens replacement schedule, your doctor
may recommend additional care procedures (such as rubbing your lenses). This may
be particularly important if lenses are kept longer than 90 days. Prior to Step
1, place 3 drops or more of solution on each lens surface and gently rub for
several seconds.

Disinfecting

Wearing
After disinfection, the lenses can be
inserted directly into the eye. However, some patients may find it more
